BACKGROUND:

Orphans and widows of Aids Uganda is a National Non-Government Organization under Ministry of  Internal Affairs,NGO Board regestered with S.5914/3562 Number Dedicated to work and assist Uganda focusing on three major goals:HIV/AIDS Prevention,Care and Mitigation as well as capacity building,Owau was founded by Kayongo Nsereko with five other founder Members.

MISSION:    

The main objectives of OWAU include:to inform the general public that these  marginalised groups of people ,orphans,widows and people affected with Aids with HIV/AIDS are also useful community members  and can be of much significancy in the development of their societies when given a hand and fight peoples human rihgts

Activities are carried out by our partners like youth and women to promote self help initiative so as to strenghten self sustainability Such activities include ;music,dance and drama and all other activities which light out the three enemies of poverty,ignorance and disease as sensitizing the community about  the epidamic is our mission so as we fight and redicate,totaly the spread of HIV/AIDS through several approaches.

OBJECTIVES:

The main objective is to empower communities,to Develop,implementand manage HIV/AIDS intervation through participartory process.The project support comminity led HIV/AIDS control activities directly carried out,or controlled by community based organizations.

Training TOTS                                                                                                     Sensitizing the community /We organise  seminors on HIV/AIDS .                                  Holding meetings to discuss the HIV/AIDS,any challenges and possible solutions.                                                                                         Inviting Guest speakers to discuss HIV/AIDS challenges in the community.                                                                                                                              Printing posters of HIV/AIDS for awareness.                                                               Organising and conducting talk shows on radios and televisions.                                  Marching through Towns and villages to eradicate HIV/AIDS
